Sometimes I pursue an idea that doesn’t immediately lead anywhere. This is one of those. I wondered what the canopies of tree fractals would look like if you plotted them next to one and other whilst varying the branch angle from 0 to 180 degrees.
To ensure continuity, I adapted the relative branch length such that the tree fractals are self connecting. This introduces some skew in the scaling which is simply a reflection of the relative branch length.
I suppressed the branches and only kept the 12th generation branch tips and connected them.
The images above and below show this object from two sides. The big oblong in the middle is a space filling H-curve when the angle is 90 degrees.
To be honest, I don’t see much in it yet. There is stuff going on inside this object as well. Perhaps it will useful another time.
